There are three types of resources that need to be taken into consideration when working on EOS: RAM, CPU, and NET. Click here to learn more about RAM, CPU, and NET.
In this guide we’ll demonstrate how to buy RAM and stake CPU and NET using two different options:
- Option A: Buying and staking resources using Scatter (desktop only).
- Option B: Buying and staking resources using EOSToolKit.
Option A: Buying and staking using Scatter (desktop version only):
Login to Scatter, go to “Vault” on the top menu and select your EOS Account:
Here you can view and manage your CPU and NET staking and buy and sell RAM:
Please note that the percentage figures of the CPU and NET represent the account’s average usage in the past 3 days. If you have not used the CPU and/or NET and are monitoring their readings over a period of a few minutes, you’ll notice that they are slowly decreasing.
Click each of the circles to reveal a Stake/Unstake option for CPU and NET, and a Buy/Sell option for RAM:
Set the CPU and NET dials, view the total EOS staking cost on the top right side, and click "Stake".
Option B: Buying and staking using EOSToolKit:
Go to EOSToolKit and attach your account via Scatter:
Login to Scatter and select the ‘Active’ account:
In order to stake CPU and/or NET, select the “Manage Stake” on the right side menu bar. Here you can delegate resources both to your account or any other account. If you wish to stake CPU and/or NET to your account, make sure to write your own account name as the recipient:
Approve the transaction on Scatter:
That’s it, you’ve just increased your CPU staking.
Please note that you can also unstake (undelegate) CPU on the same page; just make sure to write your account name as the stakeholder:
